Grade your Public Servant

In this surprising calm since the election I am amazed at how many times I have heard what it will take for the Republicans to return to power.  Since I do not count myself as a Republican OR Democrat, perhaps I am confused as to what happened on Election Day.

I am not interested in the present day Republicans returning to power.  I am even less enthused with the selections that were made on November 7th.

We have replaced a Speaker of the House who, as I see it, had at least some knowledge of the deviant actions of Mark Foley yet did nothing about it, with a Speaker of the House who garners the support of the labor unions yet, will not allow a union presence in any of her businesses.

We have replaced a meek and mild do-nothing Senate Majority Leader with one who has undermined President Bush in any way, shape, or form possible while harping about the President’s lack of “reaching out” to Democrats over the aisles on Capital Hill.

The country needs a full house cleaning in Washington D.C.  The daily stench that emanates from this cesspool is overwhelming.  This is the message that was sent to Washington last week.  It wasn’t a moratorium on the war as most pundits try to tell us.  It wasn’t a moratorium on any specific policy of the current administration.

What I believe that it was, was an attempt, by the voting electorate, to tell the “public servants” that represent us that they are NOT acting as public servants NOR are they representing us.

I have developed a very simple formula, which can be applied to the Congressman or Senator of your choice, that will tell you whether or not you have a public servant or an elected official that is drunk with power.  All you need to do is ask him three very simple and direct questions.

  1. Do you support term limits?
  2. Do you support HR25, the “Fair Tax”?
  3. Do you support construction of a border control fence on our boundary with Mexico

Scoring is easy, each question, if answered yes, awards the subject 1 point.

If the “public servant” scores less than 3, then they are corrupt with power.

An answer of NO to question #1 indicates that this politician will be involved in re-election activities about 49% of the time.  This translates into the fact that he will not have any time to address the issues you have elected him to work on.

An answer of NO to question #2 indicates that this politician will be involved in lobbyist activities about 49% of the time.  This translates into the fact that he has more interest in manipulating the tax code to accommodate his lobbyist buddies' clients than to participate in the largest return of power possible to the people of this country.

An answer of NO to question #3 indicates that this politician has never read the Constitution NOR understood his Constitutional obligations to protect the citizens of this country.

We have the power to make the change.

PROVE ME WRONG

I leave you, sincerely,

SIMPLY AMERICAN

Simply American

What does "SIMPLY AMERICAN" represent?

Simply American is what we all should be.  The majority of us have forgotten this.  All you need to do to realize that, is read any major news publication or subject yourself to the every-day droning of national and local news casts on television.

You must cut through the disinformation spewed by the media, and get past the punditry that assails us from every corner.

You must research the history of our great nation to reassert the values that are truly important to our United States.  To study the history of our nation is to unlock the values and desires for true freedom that carried our Founding Fathers forward to conduct the greatest experiment in personal freedom and liberty in history.

You cannot dwell on the past mistakes our nation has committed, nor can you guarantee that misjudgments in policy will never occur in the future.  To do so reveals one’s desire to live in a Utopian society where people cease to be individuals or accept the responsibility of their thoughts and actions.

Unfortunately we are suffering from a media “malaise” where we are constantly told how terrible the United States is day after day, hour after hour.  They have grown to be elitist snobs who have forgotten that the only reason they can spew their pompous venoms is by the grace of the spilled blood of true heroes, our fine men and women in our armed forces.

They forget that when tragedy strikes in the world, America is  there first; delivering manpower, money, and technologies to quell the impact of these devastations.  They forget that when despotic regimes have risen, America sacrifices her sons and daughters to overcome them, asking not for land, not for treasures, but simply for respect.  They forget that the greatest beacon of liberty and freedom is, and always will be these United States.

I sincerely leave you,

Simply American
